An example of a print portfolio

These are some images from my print portfolio. The portfolio itself is a series of 30 cards 8"x5" arranged in a self contained package. Lets use this as a springboard to discuss more things.

The important thing to note here how a visual hierarchy takes precedence over the information hierarchy - or simply put, 'what does the viewer want to see first' with regard to the subject? There are two levels of textual information as well - one is an overall description of the subject, while the other is information about the specific project.

Consistency is key!

I think that there is a very simple graphic consistency that really helps to bring each card together. Three key elements - card number, header/footer line, and the description block. With just those three elements, you can actually get a lot of variety and still keep the portfolio looking like a single body of work.
